Our Eland Suite is the last of our wheelchair-friendly suites and also doubles as our family unit. Eland is equipped with a queen sized bed, a bunker bed (sleeps 2), and a double sleeper couch (also sleeps 2), as well as our wetroom-styled, disabled-friendly bathroom, and many of the amenities required of a wheelchair-friendly guest house.
The bathrooms of our wheelchair-friendly suites are equipped with showers which have fold-down shower chairs, adjustable-height shower heads, and support handrails. The toilets are readily accessible with the required railings and fittings. The basins in our wheelchair friendly suites are readily accessible, whether sitting or standing.
The name "Eland" is derived from the Dutch word for moose. When Dutch settlers came to the Cape Province they named the largest wild ruminant herbivore they met with the name of the huge northern herbivore.
In Dutch the animal is called "Eland antelope" to distinguish it from the Moose, which is found in the northern boreal forests.
